Rakesh Mishra has over 20 years of experience in the auto insurance product underwriting and analytics areas. He is currently Senior Vice President of technology and analytics with an auto insurance company.

Rakesh pioneered the "usage-based-insurance" product in auto insurance industry. While working at Progressive Insurance in 1998, Rakesh was instrumental in creating a revolutionary new product and pricing plan that was based on usage meaning mileage and driving characteristics. That product became the foundation for what is now being advertised by Progressive Insurance as SnapshotR. Mostly recently, Rakesh was the Senior VP of big data and analytics, at a large decision science company.

Rakesh has had senior leadership officer roles at several large corporations in the auto insurance industry managing underwriting, product development and marketing areas. Rakesh has also developed underwriting algorithm for the auto insurance market utilizing state-of-the-art modeling techniques and innovative use of data for underwriting.

Rakesh has a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering degree from University of Texas, Austin. He also has a MBA from University of Cincinnati. Rakesh completed the Insurance executive program at the Wharton School.
